Sunset Community Association President’s Message

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine and spending lots of time outdoors this summer.

Our summer kicked off with a bang at our annual community celebration on Canada Day. This year’s event was bigger and better than ever, featuring more amusements, performances, and a special craft fair. Over 100 dedicated volunteers ensured the event’s success. A special thank you to Canada Heritage, RBC – Avtar Parmar and Ratna Leghari, Hayer Health, Hi Five Chicken Marine Drive, Young Commander Chess – Joe Soliven, Pall Beesla, Khalsa Diwan Society, Rajinder Mundra and the Sunset Community Association for sponsoring this event.

Following Canada Day, our Escape, Youth, and Creative REMIX camps welcomed many new and returning participants. The high demand for our summer camps led us to increase their capacity, allowing us to welcome even more campers and build unique connections with each one.

Similarly, our licensed preschool, childcare, and out-of-school care programs are also running at full capacity, reflecting their popularity and the trust our community places in us.

We are thrilled to announce that we are in the final stages of planning our senior centre, with construction expected to begin this fall.

Looking ahead, we have an exciting variety of programs and events lined up for the fall season. Registration begins on August 14, and we can’t wait to see everyone participating in our upcoming programs!
