Sunset Community Centre has many volunteer opportunities throughout the year which include special events, day camps, programs and more.

Pick up a form from the front office or download here and email the completed for to sunset.volunteers@vancouver.ca

Step 2
Submit your completed form to the front office

Need volunteer hours for graduation?

Looking for a different kind of work experience? Sunset is currently looking for youth volunteers:
1. With computer skills, or want to learn computer design skills, to create posters and flyers. Approximately 2 hours a week.
2. To help out in the Preschool Day Camp in August, Monday to Friday 9am-1pm.
3. To help with afternoon programs (such as Math Teaser or Tutoring Club, on Thursdays afternoon).
4. To help with photography. Take photos and videos of centre programs, upload and organize them into folders and social media. Hours can vary.


Email mawi.bagon@vancouver.ca if you are interested in taking on any of these opportunities! You can learn and develop any of these skills while you are volunteering.


Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver

Sunset Community Centre will be partnering up with Big Brothers in the near future to offer both programs. Virtual Mentoring with Math Mentoring (8-12yrs)Academic math support and mentorship for students in grades 3 to 7. Are you a senior who is self-isolating due to covid-19? We can help

Call 2-1-1- or go to visit www.bc211.ca.

You’ll be connected with a volunteer who can help with:

phone and /or virtual check-ins
grocery shopping and delivery
meal preparation and deliver
prescription pick up and drop off

This free service is available to anyone over 65.
Volunteers are screen and assessed according to current Government of British Columbia guidelines
Frequency dependent on service requested and volunteer availability.

Homework Club (Grades 8-12)

Students who attend will be put into a raffle each day for a variety of prizes. Homework Club is a space to come and get homework help on a variety of subjects, snacks, a safe space to socialize and have Wi-Fi access to complete school work. Registration opens Fridays at 9:00am before each Monday session.
