Whether you’re a runner or a walker of any level, the internationally regarded SportMedBC 10K InTraining Program will help you reach your fitness & health goals in a safe and supportive environment! The 13-week program, designed by SportMedBC’s RunWalk Coach, Olympian Lynn Kanuka, will gradually develop your strength and stamina so that you can train injury-free and prepare for the 10K distance. Choose to register for a 10K Event or just join the InTraining community of walkers & runners across the province and receive: 13 guided run/walk sessions with trained leaders, a logbook with your 13-week training plan, exclusive gear, nutrition tips, fun times and more! Walk10K, LearnToRun10K, and Run10K will also be offered. For more information, check the SportMedBC website at www.sportmedbc.comPlease note the following:(1) Those wanting to participate in the Vancouver Sun Run will need to register for the event independently(2) Registration closes on Friday March 19, 2021. Registration fees will not be pro-rated at any time.(3) Refund Policy: no refunds will be issued after March 12, 2021(a) Full refunds ($99, less a $5.00 administration fee) may be issued to participants up until the start of the first clinic session(b) Partial refunds ($75, less a $5.00 administration fee) may be issued to participants after the start of first session, up until the end of the second week program.(c) No refund will be issued after the second week of the program except for medical reasons (doctor’s note required)Withdrawals due to COVID-19-related risks: SportMedBC advise persons who have cold or flu-like symptoms, or who have recently re-entered the country (or been exposed to someone who has) to not participate in our programs. If withdrawal from the program is necessary due to development of illness symptoms participants will be required to contact SportMedBC for a pro-rated refund.? Depending on whether the registration fee is collected through the community centre or SportMedBC?s website, the collecting organization will arrange for the refund according to SportMedBC?s refund policy. Refunds will be issued by crediting the credit card used for registration payment. Refund cheques are not currently being offered.? In the event of clinic suspension due to an outbreak or on advice of the Provincial Health Officer, SportMedBC and its leaders will continue to support participants through online training providing it is suitable and safe to do so.? Should the program in all forms need to be cancelled for any reason refunds from SportMedBC are prorated as follows:o If the program is cancelled at any point prior to Week 8, SportMedBC will offer refunds on a pro-rated basis for any weeks missed as a result of the cancellation.o If the program needs to be cancelled at any point beyond Week 8 (March 12th, 2021) no refunds will be offered.The nature of the activity is such that you may interact with other people who are considered to be in good health, continuous physical distance between other people cannot be guaranteed, and, by participating in the activity, you are at risk of being infected by a pathogen, including but not limited to SARS-COV-2. SARS-COV-2, which causes the disease COVID-19, may exacerbate other health issues and is the cause of an ongoing global pandemic. SARS-COV-2 is highly communicable and dangerous. If you become infected with SARS-COV2, you may transmit it to other people even if you are not exhibiting symptoms of illness.
